Rags to riches

Vintage fans often complain about the shameful mix-up between vintage clothing and simple second hand. Wikipedia made things clear for us all, explaining that “Vintage clothing is a generic term for new or second hand garments originating from a previous era (20’s-80’s)”.
Well, now that we’ve got that straight, I’m happy to say that I recently walked with a friend right into a great little vintage shop. RAG is comfortably situated in the very center of Paris, in between Les Halles and Palais Royal. The owner, a man in a denim shirt, was reluctant to let us take pictures in his store, but we finally got the “only because you’re nice” pass. I’m glad we did, because there’s plenty to see in there… For example : Woman Christian Dior jacket 120€, YSL shoes 70€, Armani skirt 60€ and even a rare, genuine, 60’s Courrèges mini dress (300€…. what else ?) . You can also find less expensive items in RAG, like jackets for 20€.

The very best vintage address in Paris (on which I never got the chance to talk about here before) is the beautiful Thanx God I’m a VIP, near République. Prices aren’t cheap, but the items are timeless.
